Notable world famous attractions in TANZANIA
are:
Mount Kilimanjaro which is in TANZANIA,
is popularly referred to as the Roof of Africa, with two peaks
- Kibo 5895 meters and Mawenzi 5449 meters. It is Africas
highest mountain. It is listed on UNESCOs list of World
Heritage Sites. Mount Kilimanjaro is also the biggest free

Serengeti National Park has
the largest population of wildlife in the world. The annual
migration of wildebeests and zebras is spectacular and it
is one of the wonders of the world. It is listed on UNESCOs

Ngorongoro Crater is a result
of a collapsed volcano (caldera). Within the Ngorongoro Crater
Conservation Area - NCCA, is Oldpai Gorge. Here is where the
world famous Anthropologist - Dr Leakey in 1977 found foot
prints of the first upright walking hominid - 3.5 million
years old. The place is known as the cradle of mankind. Ngorongoro
is also on UNESCOs list of World Heritage Sites
Lake Tanganyika is the longest lake in the world. It is also
the second deepest fresh water lake in the world after lake
Baikal in Russia.
Lake Victoria is the source of The Nile. It is the largest
fresh water lake in the world.
Gombe National Park is home to the most researched and documented
Chimpanzees in the world - by the world famous anthropologist
Dr. Jane Goodall.
Lake Rukwa is the shallowest natural lake in the world, it
is 7 metres at its deepest point.
Cultural Aspects:
Tanzania is home to the most spoken
language (by many nations) of Africa, KISWAHILI: this language
is posed to become the future language of sub-Saharan Africa.
With over 120 ethnic tribes Tanzania is very rich in culture.
The people and the way they live, their foods and hand crafts,
music and dances etc.
Zanzibar is difficult to describe.
There is rich, vibrant culture and beautiful beaches. One
has to see so as to believe the history behind this spice
island. Zanzibar Stone town is also on UNESCOS list
of world heritage sites.
