INTERLINE TRAVEL AND TOURS

The following information is intended to provide insight into the company’s performance and plans for the future.

The need for this information is prompted by two factors, namely:

  1. We believe that our clients need to know about our status and progress in order to evaluate and appreciate our services.
  2. There is constant demand by clients, particularly corporate bodies, for consultancy in the provision of Travel and Tours Services.

Furthermore, as the Country’s economy is gearing to become semi industrialized by 2025 the demand for quality services and professionalism becomes greater than ever before.

In this document, we provide brief information to cover the Company’s mission, vision, and a track record of our performance which includes the Company’s activities, a list of major corporate clients, major contracts undertaken, achievements, a list of shareholders and senior employees.

The Company

INTERLINE TRAVEL AND TOURS is a limited liability company incorporated under CAP 212 of the company ordinance. It was established in 1995 and registered under Certificate of Incorporation number 17577. The company started operations in 1996.



Our Mission

To offer quality travel and tourism service through adherence to professionalism, pay attention to clients’ needs, follow closely market demands, and focus mainly on facilitating the development of our corporate clients’ capacity to grow and manage change.

Scope Of Operation

INTERLINE TRAVEL AND TOURS is classified under the tourism industry, covering travel and tour, accommodation, and car hire. Our operations cover (but are not limited to) travel, touring, and car hire.



THE COMPANY’S MAIN ACTIVITIES ARE:
  1. We offer consultancy in travel arrangement, issue of tickets for international, regional and domestic travel.
  2. We organize air charter; and handling of conference delegates.
  3. We provide ground transport, hotel booking and packages for domestic and international tours.
  4. Back up services on behalf of our clients; e.g., application and procurement of Travel Visa, resident and work permits, advice on cost effective travel package; offer travel related information upon request.



STAFF AND PERSONNEL

We have professional trained and skilled personnel in our company.

  1. Chief Executive Officer: In charge of overall business operation, qualified in Marketing and Business Administration holding a Master Degree in Business Administration
  2. Marketing & Reservations Manager: With qualification in sales, air travel and ticketing, certified by IATA.
  3. Sales and Reservations Manager: Reservations and ticketing qualifications certified by IATA
  4. Sales and Reservation Officer: well trained in Reservations and ticketing certified by IATA
  5. Office Attendant: holding a knowledge of Galileo system in reservations and ticketing, performing her duties in a professional manner
  6. Finance officer: An accountant with an Advanced Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Accountancy who is in charge of all documents in accounting and finance

  1. Tanzania ambassadors/high commissioners accredited to foreign mission all over the world with their families – 1997
  2. Air travel tickets for 55 delegates from African countries to a conference on food and security (COASAD) held in Dar es Salaam in 1996
  3. Air travel tickets for UNESCO’s 40 delegates of the sub regional seminar on African language and oral tradition to Zanzibar in December 1998.
  4. Air travel tickets for 90 delegates attending the Pan-Africa Conference on a culture of peace and non-violence, held in Zanzibar on 7th 20th May, 1999 and sponsored by UNESCO.
  5. Air travel tickets to delegates From Ministries of Education and Members of Parliament from African Countries to the MINEDAF conference in Dar 2001
  6. Air travel tickets for 40 delegates from Dar to a trade fair in Osaka, Japan, in September 2000

CORPORATE STATEMENT ON ETHICS AND CODE OF CONDUCT

Interline Travel and Tours Limited is a corporate entity that is engaged in provision of various service to a wide-ranging clientele. It is imperative and demanding from the company to make the following statement about corrupt and fraudulent practices to guide both our employees and the clients we serve.

  1. We observe the highest standards of ethics during the entire process of procurement and deliverance/execution of our services.
  2. Offering or giving, accepting or receiving any article or service of any form of value, so as to earn in return a favor in the procurement process or in contract execution is forbidden.
  3. Concealing a knowledge of a person engaged in any such practice as stated in paragraph 2 above is a corrupt practice and is forbidden.
  4. Presenting wrong facts or distorted information willfully so as to win business competition; is unethical.
  5. To manipulate price of service rendered which makes the client spend more money than actual fare, is unethical.
  6. We reject any action which under Tanzania Laws or by any law that has been enacted with consent of international community, such as United Nations Security Council, is termed as a corrupt practice, or immoral and unethical.

OUR COMPANY’S COMPETITIVE AND COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGES

We won a World Bank International Tender for a project for Africa Regional capacity building network for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care – ARCAN.

The project was funded by the world bank. It was for 5 years starting May 2006, and it covered Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia, (we had offices in Addis Ababa for 5 years with two staff from Tanzania) The travel component of the project was approximately US$ 2.2 million.

We won Tender of Travel Services for East African Community and served for 6 years from 2007. Annual Budget was US$ 2.5 million.

Therefore, we are WELL conversant with the standards demanded by Organizations such as World Bank funded projects, East African Community, and we can handle large volume of business and big budget.
